Guess what, the recent trend in day one releases (Dead or Alive 5, Borderlands 2) seems like it was just a taste of what is to come. Today Sony announced that they will be starting a new program called ‘Day 1 Digital’, which plans on bringing the hugest and most anticipated PS3 titles to the Playstation Store on the same day they hit retail shelves. What does this mean for you? It means now you can save time, gas and energy by not having to go to your local store. You will be able to pre-order, purchase, download and play all your favorite titles right, from the comfort of your couch.

So far only a handful of games have been announced, most of which offer a 10% discount for PlayStation Plus members and free themes for all pre-orders. See the full list of games just after the break and let us know what you think about this new program. Will you  be picking any of these digital copies up on Day 1 or will you still be buying them from a retailer like always?
